Food Stall At Borough Market in London

Borough Market, beyond and back

Approximately 2 hours +

As Borough Market is more than a short walk away, we recommend hopping on to the tube at Green Park Station and following the Jubilee Line to London Bridge Station. From here you’ll be able to leisurely make your way to Borough Market. If you would prefer to arrive in style, get in touch with our Concierge team who will be able to organise a taxi or private car to your destination.

Situated south of the river, Borough Market is London’s oldest and most renowned food and drink market, located next to London Bridge, it has been serving the people of London for 1,000 years.

Here you’ll find everything from cheese, fish, meat to the freshest vegetables all beautifully displayed and most importantly a wide variety of freshly cooked street food delicacies from around the world. Be sure to try our Head Concierge, Dianna’s two favourites: the Swiss raclette and the beautiful Pad Thai, both cooked freshly at the end of the market under the arches of the bridge.

Concierge Tip: Take your freshly made delights down to the river and eat looking at Tower Bridge in the shadow of The Shard, the tallest building in Western Europe.

Once you’re full after sampling the mouth-watering street food, you will definitely need to take a stroll… So why not head along the river towards Southwark where you will find the Tate Modern to enjoy an array of some of the world’s finest modern and contemporary art. Whilst general entrance is free, some exhibitions do require you to pre-buy tickets – at this current time, if there is an exhibition you wish to visit, do ask our Concierge to book your desired time slot ahead of your visit as numbers are strictly limited.

Concierge Tip: Do not leave the gallery before visiting their viewing platform, some great photo opportunities overlooking London.

What better way to return to Mayfair than via boat! Head to the Bankside Pier where you’ll be able to take the Thames Clipper to Westminster. Ask our Concierge to provide timetables and help with planning your journey.

When your boat docks at Westminster Pier, be sure to look up and see Big Ben, The Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey.

If you’re feeling a little tired at this point, the townhouse is just a short taxi ride away. Alternatively, continue your walk with an adventure through St James’ Park, giving a quick wave to the Queen at Buckingham Palace and up through Green park, where you will find yourself on Piccadilly. Just a stone’s throw from The Townhouse. Don’t forget to pop into The Dandy Bar for some well-deserved refreshments.
